Mac and Cheese Burger at the 2012 Florida State Fair ... Yes Please!!!

Tuesday, January 24, 2012 by jeremy fairley
Florida State FairHello folks! Jerm here and back with one of the tastiest updates I can remember having posted in a long time!

It seems like only yesterday our friends over at the Florida State Fair, and the gang over at Carousel foods had us stuffing our faces with fair creations like that juicy, bacon stuffed, ice cream cheeseburgers!

Well everyone, it's almost that time of year again and Dennis and Cheryl Reas owners of Carousel foods, and inventors of the donut burger, have released their 2012 creations for the Florida State Fair.  Some of the creations that they have come up with this year are simply mindnumblingly delicious!

The Mac and Cheese Burger will feature a standard bun, burger patty, bacon, and a scoop of creamy macaroni and cheese, and all of your favorite toppings.  Or perhaps something Elvis would have loved, like the Bacon Peanut Butter Burger. This bacon burger topped with peanut butter, fully loaded of course, is fit for a king.

Ron SwansonFor all of you Ron Swanson-like meat lovers, the Wild Hog is a bacon cheeseburger topped with BBQ Pork, Slaw, Fries, BBQ sauce and “ran though the garden” if you like it that way.  Or perhaps the Polish Boy, a Kielbasa Sausage grilled, and then placed on a toasted garlic roll topped with BBQ Pork, Slaw, Fries, BBQ sauce.

The Potato Mash Burger is a Bacon Cheeseburger topped with a griddle fried mashed potato cake.  The Polish Burger is a Bacon Cheeseburger topped with a piece of kielbasa sausage with all your favorite toppings. And not to be left out, on a stick is the Deep Fried Mashed Potatoes, dipped in batter and fried! Oh Yeah!

And just when you thought it was all about the burgers, they even have some sweet desserts for us!

Deep Fried Bubblegum consists of bubblegum flavored marshmallows dipped in a batter and deep fried “as is” then drizzled with a little pink and blue icing and a few Chicklets sprinkled on top.  Deep Fried M & M's are M & M's wrapped in a sweet dough stuck with a stick and then dipped in a batter and fried, sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Deep Fried Hershey Drops are Hershey Drops wrapped in a sweet dough stuck with a stick, then dipped in a batter and fried, sprinkled with powdered.  Lastly, Deep Fried Kool Aid is a batter made with cherry Kool Aid and deep fried.

The Florida State Fair, February 9th through the 20th, has discount deals on admission, rides, entertainment, and more.  For more Fair information please visit http://www.floridastatefair.com.  It's gonna be a great time folks, so be sure to check back in with us for more updates on Tampa Bay dining and  Florida State Fair related things to do in Tampa Bay!
