Ever heard
of Sky Sports? I hadn't until I started working with them on their upcoming
visit to Tampa Bay.
Sky Sports is the UK's primary sports network - pretty comparable to the United
States' ESPN.
It's actually a really neat concept and opportunity...
Each year, Sky Sports creates a destination DVD that covers the city who is
hosting that year's Super Bowl. For 2009, the DVD will showcase to these UK
viewers a few of Tampa Bay's treasures. From locations such as Raymond James
Stadium, the Henry B. Plant Museum, Busch Gardens Africa, Channelside, historic
Ybor City, the St. Pete Times Forum, Legends Field, and The Florida Aquarium,
this DVD will cover a great variety of what Tampa has to offer its visitors.
The film crew will be in Tampa from July 11-17 filming at these locations so
stay out of their way - or, if you feel so inclined, jump in and show the 8.5
million viewers of Sky Sports just how Tampa Bay folks play.
Hosted by two Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleaders, this complementary coverage
will be tremendous exposure for our destination as the UK is Tampa"s No. 2
international travel market!
Let us know your thoughts on this…and stat tuned as the DVD will be available
soon for your review!
