Ok, so if 36 teams flying off the end of a 30-ft high dock in to the river behind the Tampa Convention Center wasn’t enough (of course I’m talking about Red Bull Flugtag taking place this weekend), we will have the 2008 Metrocon Annual Convention this weekend! 

That’s right ladies and gentlemen (and superheroes!), Florida’s largest anime convention is back in town for another round of pirates, ninjas, dark sides, video games, fashion shows, battles and much more.  Just check out the schedule - http://www.metroconventions.com/control.cfm?ID=3539. 

And if thousands of people (of all ages) coming out dressed up as anime characters wasn’t enough, if you decide to attend this sort of “Fantasy Fest,” you’ll even get up close and personal with some of the biggest names in the anime world, including Yaya Han, Ashley Clark, Johnny Yong Bosch, Greg Cipes and others – ok, ok, ok…if you are like me, then you really don’t know who these folks are, but how can you resist coming out to see!? 

When you’re done with the world of fantasy and anime, head out back for Red Bull Flugtag and see some crazy people, including a team from Metrocon, soar through the sky and fall like rocks (well some of them will fall like rocks and the others will just fall) to the river below.  It's not exactly Tampa Bay sports at its best, but there will definitely be plenty of actio for everyone!
