People often ask me what this whole RSS Feed thing is about and why do we see them scattered over most major websites. RSS
defined, means Really Simple Syndication, and is defined by
Dictionary.com as "any of various XML file formats suitable for
disseminating real-time information via subscription on the
Internet."
Having been designated the resident nerd around here, I am happy to say that that this responsibility to put it in non nerd terms for the Tampa Bay & Company visitor, would fall on my shoulders.
RSS feeds are an easy for you to stay up to date with the
latest news and events with your favorite websites, blogs, podcasts,
and other similar types of media. These feeds display differently
depending on your Internet browser, i.e. Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc,
but its just an easier way to have access to the news and websites that
mean the most to you. See the screen shot for reference, but say you are browsing the latest Tampa Bay & Company news releases, and want to check out the latest soccer news and updates...having subscribed to these feeds allows you to navigate from one site to the next quickly without having to remember a specific URL.
At the Tampa Bay & Company Website, we make it easy for you to access our Calender of Events, industry related events, and Press Release pages through the use of this technology. This can be extremely helpful in ensuring that you are getting to the information that matters to you most like things to do and Tampa Bay Area Events!
Well thats it in a nutshell, so if you want to hear more about it or have questions about any other topic, please feel free to respond to this post or any other of my posts. Hope this message finds you well!
